For the 4th exposure, Ms. Monique Macrohon, head of the CHP on Emergency preparedness conducted 2 separate lectures on basic first aid. The 1st lecture, which happened on July 6, 2019, targeted barangay officials and tanods, since they are the ones that people call for help. Last exposure, they had a lecture and return demonstration on basic wound care. Hence, they were first re-evaluated through a pre-test to know if they still remember them. Next they were introduced to the things they need to do during a seizure and nosebleed. Again, a post-test was done, then a return demonstration on the skills shown to them.

The second lecture focused on adolescents, or those aged 12-18 years. Based on experience during our stay in New Barili, they are the age group that is most of the time involved in a trauma event such as a motor vehicular accident. With this in mind, it was decided that they too, should know about basic wound care. After all, the team believes that in cases where accidents are bound to happen, it is best for the people to at least be able to provide first aid while waiting for professional help.
